What is Nihongo Table?

Nihongo Table is a Japanese language and culture gathering held once a week, where students immerse themselves in the Japanese language and culture. Green tea is served every week, and sometimes food. There is a brief cultural topic for discussion every meeting. After the discussion, students are free to talk about anything they want.

Nihongo Table is a great networking opportunity for students to meet new people and make new friends. Do not feel intimidated if you know little or no Japanese. Everybody is learning and you are not alone. Speaking English is perfectly fine.

When is Nihongo Table?

During the Fall and Spring semesters, Nihongo Table is held every Wednesday night from 6:30 pm to 8:00 PM at the "Scrounge" in the Perkins Student Center.

日本語テーブルとは？

日本語テーブルは、週に一度行われる日本語及び日本文化についての集会です。そこでは、学生達が日本語の勉強や、様々な日本の文化に没頭しています。他にも毎回出される緑茶のサービスや、美味しいクッキーなど簡単な食べ物も出る時があります。また、各話し合いの場では日本文化についてのちょっとした話題が設けられ、学生達はその話題について話しあったりします。その後、自分の好きな話題や言いたい事などに関して自由に喋る事も出来ます。

日本語テーブルには、多くの留学生、現地の大学生達が集っており学生達が新しい友達作りをする絶好の機会とも言えます。日本語を知らなかったり、日本語が喋れなくても心配することはありません。皆、そこで学ぼうとしている仲間達だからです。なかなかデラウェアで友達が出来ない！と思っているあなた、是非この機会に日本語テーブルを覗いてみてはいかがでしょうか？
