Hello everyone! On behalf of all the Nihongo Table officers I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting semester of Nihongo Table. The first meeting of the semester will take place this Wednesday the 17th at Perkins Scrounge. The meeting will start at 6:30 so be there to meet your friends again and hopefully make some new ones. There will be some new changes to Nihongo Table this semester. Since this year there will be a study abroad trip to Kobe we will try to teach some useful Japanese customs every other week or so in preparation. The Mitsuwa trip has been canceled in favor of going to Philadelphia every once in a while on the weekends. We are hoping this will be a much easier trip with more people interested in going. Sakura Matsuri will take place this April in Washington D.C. Sakura Matsuri is the annual Cherry Blossom festival and we do plan to make a trip down to D.C. for it. For more information on when these events will take place please check our events page; some events are already up. Of course more detailed announcements will take place at the Nihongo Table meetings so we hope to see you there! Study well and don’t slip on the snow!
Your Vice President, Ian Jones

Please contact Nihongo Table’s secretary at nihongotable@gmail.com if you want to go. Fuji Mountain does offer drinks, but all ages are welcome (21 and under are obviously not allowed to drink alcohol). Fuji Mountain has a great menu with delicious Japanese food. On Saturday, October 24th, Nihongo Table will be traveling to Mitsuwa Market in North Jersey and to New York City. Please contact our capable secretary, Shin-Ying Lin, if you wish to go on the trip. Also, if you have a car and are able to take people up to Mitsuwa, please tell Shin that you are able too. This would greatly help us and allow more of our group to go. Here is a link to Mitsuwa Market’s website in English http://www.mitsuwa.com/english/index.html and Japanese http://www.mitsuwa.com/. If you want to just go to Mitsuwa Market and not to NY, please inform Shin so she can seat you with the appropriate drivers or give you the appropriate passengers. More information will be soon to come on this event and look forward to new ones. Let’s all have a good time!

Hello everyone!
It has been a little while since the last update, sorry to keep the public waiting. First off, thank you to all the members who have been coming to Nihongo Table. Keep coming with your homework and be sure to ask us questions please. The officers have been thinking of new ways to keep everyone entertained and learning Japanese. Also, events outside of Nihongo Table may be on the horizon. Look forward to new updates.
Secondly, thank you Shawn DiCriscio for making new banners for the website. Shawn is an art major and Japanese minor that frequently attends Nihongo Table. Look forward to more of his updates to the site later.

ありがとう皆さん!
The first meeting of Nihongo Table on September 9th was a great success! All the Nihongo Table officers thank everyone for showing up and introducing themselves. Due to great public relations work on behalf of Miles and Ian there was a great turnout to the introductory meeting. Many young students appeared to have much interest in the Japanese Minor offered here at the University of Delaware, which is pleasing to both the Japanese Department and Nihongo Table to hear. On September 16th, Nihongo Table will hold a proper meeting where all students are encouraged to bring homework and questions about the Japanese language. In due time, all students will be amazing their Sensei’s with new grammar forms and vocabulary. Hope to see you there, until then がんばってください!
-Your Vice President, Ian Jones
P.S. There will be new pictures up soon on the website that were taken at the September 9th meeting, please visit again for more updates!

ハローみんなさん、
All of us at Nihongo Table would like to welcome our new members and returning members alike to this new semester at the University of Delaware. Nihongo Table is a student organization dedicated to social networking of UD students of Japanese language and culture, and Japanese foreign exchange students in the aim of bettering their international studies and language skills. This coming Wednesday, September 2nd, Nihongo Table will hold its first officer meeting of the semester. The following Wednesday, September 9th, will be the first official meeting of Nihongo Table of the semester. The first meeting will take place at Perkins Scrounge at 6:30 PM unless the time is changed. All officers of Nihongo Table would like to extend the notion that Nihongo Table is an opportunity for anyone to improve their studies, but more importantly, a place and community where one can enjoy themselves and make friends; and everyone knows it is more effective to learn while having fun with their friends. See you all at Nihongo Table!

It’s the end of the semester! Woohoo! Last night, we had our final Nihongo Table meeting, and to top it off, we had a National Japanese Honor Society ceremony presented by our awesome Nihongo teachers. Congratulations to all those who were inducted into the honor society. For those of you who will still be here in the future, let this be an inspiration for you to continue your Japanese studies. Sushi was served, and teachers hung out with the students. We had a lot of people show up for this meeting, and we even played Boggle with the Japanese Kana. All in all, it was a very fun night!
And now – a personal message from your webmaster: It’s been a real pleasure to serve as the webmaster for this amazing club. I really had a great time, and I loved every moment of hanging out at Nihongo Table. Since I’m graduating, it’s time for me to pass the website on to our new officers. I’m sure they’ll do a great job at keeping you guys informed. I will still be checking the website frequently so in case anything breaks, I can fix it. Other than that, Miles (PR) will be updating the site from now on. With that said, I would like to thank everybody for making Nihongo Table so awesome and fun! For those of you who are graduating, congratulations and good luck in your future careers! For those who will be be here next year, good luck on your studies and stay in school for as long as you can! Thanks everybody, and お疲れ様でした!!

The future of this club is in your hands, and we know you guys will do a great job. Once again, congratulations! In the meantime, us old people are still in power, so we’re still running the show. Bwahahaaa!!

Welcome to the new Nihongo Table website! I haven’t updated the old site since February because I’ve been busy and I really didn’t like to hard code the website with HTML code. I made the new site with Word Press, so now anybody can update the website without having to have any coding knowledge. Anyways, it’s basically the same as the old site, but prettier and easier to use.
